The Misconception About Belief Restored

The Misconception of Belief

Do you think that you have to believe to manifest your desire?

If so, who is the part of you that needs to believe?

Does God need to believe?

If not, who does?

Once you can clearly answer those questions, you won’t be struggling with the fact that “you don’t believe,” so it’s preventing you from manifesting your desire. So let’s answer them.

First off, what is a belief?

A belief is a thought that you’ve repeated over and over.

But your thoughts are not you. If you identify with your thoughts, as in ‘this thought is telling me who I am,’ it’s because you still identify yourself as this human character — your ego-self, if you prefer.

It is the ego — the person — the character, whatever term you understand better, that is identifying itself with the thoughts. Therefore, with the beliefs.

In truth, however, thoughts are just objects that appear and disappear; they come and go. And whatever comes and goes is part of the illusion. Your beliefs do come and go because they are part of the illusion, and they are attached to the character, which is also part of the illusion.

I am sure that what you used to believe as a child, for example, you don’t believe anymore. Because those beliefs were part of the illusion of you as a child. Now that you are not a child anymore, those beliefs are gone.

So, a belief is nothing more than a thought, an idea that you have repeated to yourself enough times to make it a belief. But you can also see that many of your beliefs are now gone. Additionally, you may have noticed that most of the beliefs that you have are not even yours; they were taught to you by other people. This is why many of us, as conscious creators, had to get rid of most of the limiting beliefs that were taught to us.

In truth, your beliefs are attached to the human character that you misidentify yourself with. As Source, however, those beliefs are irrelevant.

As Source, you are above and beyond beliefs. So, the only belief that you need is to KNOW who you truly are — having faith in your true identity, which is I AM/Source.

Keep in mind that the human character is not manifesting anything. “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

It is not your human character that manifests your desires. It is your I AM. This is why the more you get out of your own way, the faster you manifest.

Replace the need to believe by simply deciding that you are NOW the person you want to be. Use your divine imagination to put yourself there. Practice this feeling of being every day, until it feels natural. And by feeling of being, I mean knowing. As Neville said, when I say feeling, I do not mean emotion.

As you decide and know who you are, you don’t put yourself on a bridge of incident. Or as someone who just won the lottery a few minutes ago, or whose SP just appeared in your inbox, but as someone who already has those things.

It all starts with a decision. You decide that you are the person you want to be in your inner world, no matter what your five senses are telling you right now. You are the person you want to be within, in imagination.

In such a case, you don’t try to force yourself to believe, because your only job is to BE in consciousness/in awareness, regardless of everything else. Regardless of your five senses.

Your true nature is before form. When you decide that you ARE this or that – regardless of your current circumstances, the belief becomes irrelevant. If you already are that in your inner world, it would be an oxymoron to force yourself to believe it.

Either you are or you are not. If you are, you don’t have to believe that you are, because you are.

If you are not in your inner world (in God’s kingdom) as Scripture calls it, trying to convince yourself won’t be very effective. It would be like affirming all day long only to feel exhausted and frustrated, because the more you affirm, the more it proves to you that you’re not what you affirm. As Neville said, “You do not command things to appear by your words or loud affirmations. Such vain repetition is more often than not confirmation of the opposite.” — At Your Command.

As I have reminded you many times before, creation is finished, which means that all states/all identities are finished, complete, and perfect in their own kind. So, from the state where you don’t have your desire, trying to force yourself to believe implies that you are in the wrong state to start with. You are looking at things FROM the wrong identity, trying to convince yourself.

Let your point of awareness be I am, and not, I am not. However, as long as you remain in the latter state/that identity/that role, you will not experience your desire through your 5 senses. And this is because creation is finished, complete, and perfect. So that identity of yours that has not, it’s complete, it has not. Forcing a belief there is irrelevant.

Think about it, even if you managed to micro-manage the belief from there, from that state of not having, it wouldn’t stick, because the state would take over sooner or later. So, that belief, that was weak to start with, boom, it’s gone.

This is why a much more powerful way to approach this is to understand that you are already all things/all states/all identities. And as Source/Awareness, you choose what role you want to play.

From that role/that identity, you won’t have to force yourself to believe anyway.

But truthfully, if you want to go a step further, you can even stop pretending that you are this character altogether. And from there, the belief becomes even more irrelevant.

Neville said, in his lecture, Our Real Beliefs from 1965, ” Our real beliefs are what we live by. Real belief and knowing are one. When a man really believes, it’s just as though he knows; it’s tantamount to knowing. One must experience it, and then they know it.”

How do we experience something? Not in the world of mirrors, the illusion, but in the inner man—in awareness. In consciousness. FROM there, it will reflect in the world of shadow.

So, that’s where you decide that you are the person you want to be, in your inner world, where things really happen, because nothing actually happens in the world of senses; it’s only a world of mirrors and shadows — a world of illusion. You are the dreamer (your inner self/Source) dreaming the dream of life.

You experience your reality there, and from there, it has to manifest in your shadow world, because it’s law.
