Using affirmations to transform our inner conversations is most definitely one of the easiest ways to get the job done, because whether we know it not, or want to admit it or not, we do have inner conversations going on in our minds all day long. About ourselves, about other people, and about the world at large. So, if I affirm consciously, I simply choose my thoughts. Personally, I have fully transformed my self-concept through the use of affirmations to help me create a new story about myself.

However, over time, I’ve realized that many people are using affirmations in such was way that not only doesn’t help them at all, but they manage to turn their affirmations against themselves. So they feel ‘bad’ about affirmations.

Why is this the case and what can you do about it, if this is you? This is what we are going to discuss in this article. So, put your seat belt on, and be ready to understand what affirmations are like never before.

Why Are You Using Affirmations?

I think that the most important thing to understand about affirmations is that we are not using affirmations to change other people and events outside of us but to change the self. If you are still using affirmations to get something or someone while remaining in the state of lacking that something or someone, you have probably noticed that your affirmations haven’t changed anything. Maybe they even make you feel worse.

Every time someone asks me about what they should affirm to manifest this or that, I already know that they are going to use their affirmations the wrong way. And the reason I know is because if their affirmations came from the right place, they would know exactly what to affirm.

Your affirmations are simply a declaration of your wish fulfilled. If you don’t know what your wish fulfilled sounds like, it’s because you don’t FEEL it real. And if you do not feel it real, you don’t know what to affirm. Therefore, you ask someone else to formulate it for you.

Don’t try to figure out what’s the exact phrasing to manifest your desire. First, feel how it would feel to have it, and the words will follow naturally. That’s how you find your perfect affirmations that will become your inner conversations.

When you are using affirmations without doing inner work in parallel, that’s when the affirmations become robotic, useless phrases that you repeat without any conviction and with the wrong intention, which we’re going to discuss below.

Remember, you are using affirmations to change you from within, you’re not using affirmations to get things.

When Affirmations Don’t Work

You do not command things to appear by your words or loud affirmations. Such vain repetition is more often than not confirmation of the opposite. – At Your Command – Neville Goddard

If you are using affirmations to “get” something outside of you or to “force” yourself to believe, let me tell you right now that you are wasting your time. You cannot force anything, and there is nothing to get outside of you. If you’ve been affirming from that state, this is why you have not progressed with your affirmations. This is when people come to me saying that they’ve been affirming for months and months with very little to no results.

If you are saying I am rich, I am rich, while being in a state of lack, it won’t work for you. If anything, it could make you feel even more aware of the fact that you are NOT. Do people who are rich say, I am rich, I am rich all day long? No, they don’t. However, they FEEL rich; they KNOW that they are rich.

Let’s take whatever you are right now; do not try to convince yourself that you are THAT by saying that you are. If you are an accountant, do you have to affirm I am an accountant all day long? If you are married, do you have to affirm that you are? If you are healthy, do you affirm all day that you are?

This is what Neville was talking about in his quote above. If you are affirming anything from a place of NOT having it, more often than not, it’s only going to confirm that you are not that which you’re affirming.

If you’ve been affirming in such a way with no results until now, stop right now because you’re doing more harm than good.

Does that mean that you shouldn’t use affirmations to become what you want to become? No, it doesn’t mean that, but this is where you need to use affirmations the “correct” way. Because, yes, there is a way to overcome this issue, so you can use affirmations that are going to work amazingly well for you, rather than against you.

What to Do Before You Affirm?

There is no one to change but self; that self is simply your awareness, your consciousness and the world in which it lives is determined by the concept you hold of self. It is to consciousness that we must turn as to the only reality. For there is no clear conception of the origin of phenomena except that consciousness is all and all is consciousness. – Neville Goddard

When we have a desire, it’s because our desire is making us feel a certain way, or we know that it will make us feel a certain way. On the other hand, we know what we don’t want because it makes us feel bad, and we don’t want that feeling anymore. In other words, we want to FEEL GOOD. Yet, how often do I hear people saying that their affirmations actually make them feel bad, nervous, or anxious? I’ve heard that many times.

Your affirmations make you feel bad when you are repeating statements, out loud or in your mind, from an opposite feeling/state. You are single and you feel the lack of your SP all day long, you keep thinking of them over there, far, far away, not caring about you while affirming that they love and want you, trying to force your desire to appear.

Or you are feeling poor, you’re anxious about your upcoming bills, you keep thinking about lack of money most of the day, but you are affirming I am wealthy, money comes to me easily in the “hope” of making money appear in your life. That’s when affirmations feel bad.

The best way to know if your affirmations work or not is to observe your recurrent beliefs and feelings. Have they changed? Do they agree with your affirmations? If not, then you are using affirmations in vain, as Neville said.

However, there is a way to use affirmations to work for you.

Use affirmations to plant a seed. When you plant a seed in the soil, you do not “try” to force that seed to grow. You can’t, anyway. You plant it, and you let it grow.

No matter what you do to change and improve your self-concept, remember that all your desires, no matter how outside of you they appear to be, are coming from you and are already yours. The desire is coming from you, the feeling is coming from you, the lack is coming from you, the love or lack thereof is coming from you. It’s ALL coming from you, and it’s all you. That’s why there is nothing to change but self.

If you have a desire, any desire, you already know what it FEELS to have it because if you didn’t, you wouldn’t have the desire in the first place. So, first and foremost, before you affirm anything and before you visualize anything, feel how it feels to have your desire. Do not judge anything, just feel what it feels to be or have what you desire to be or have.

Then, and only then, affirm it to reinforce the feeling. To fully plant that seed and to water the seed until it’s grown.

How to Use Affirmations to Work for You?

Do not try to use affirmations from an opposite state because all you will be creating from that is pure frustration. Affirm as you’re planting a seed, with the intention that if you plant a seed, it will grow. And you plant it in good soil by working on your feelings along with it.

No matter what you do, do not ‘try’ to convince yourself with your affirmations, it never works. Even if you have not quite managed to feel the feeling of having your desire, it’s not an affirmation that’s going to convince you. And this is the biggest mistake that I see a lot of people make.

When you affirm, do not affirm while forcing anything or believing what you are affirming right away. More often than not, you won’t believe an affirmation that’s in total opposition to what you’ve been believing for years and decades. What matters when affirming is the intention with which you’re using your chosen affirmations.

If I use an affirmation to create a new belief, I intend that the moment I affirm, I am planting a seed. From that moment something it’s taking effect. But I’m not forcing anything I intend, which is completely different. And each day, I water my seed by saying my affirmations to replace the old unwanted thoughts. But, again, I do not try to force myself to believe it. I’m just planting and cultivating my seed. When you plant a physical seed in the soil, you know that it’s not going to grow overnight because you know that the seed has to take root first, and then it will sprout.

It’s the exact same thing with affirmations. You affirm with the intention to plant a new seed in your mind, with the knowledge that eventually it will sprout, but you do not try to FORCE anything because since there’s no way you CAN force anything, you would only create resistance against your own affirmations. This is the issue that I see a lot of people have, thus my decision to address it on all my platforms this week: here, my podcast, and my video.

And, please, don’t use affirmations to change something or someone outside of you. Your affirmations NEVER change anything out there; your affirmations are meant to change YOU and you only because they become your new thoughts and beliefs.

When used correctly, affirmations are replacing your unwanted and destructive thoughts. And since thoughts manifest in your physical world because they are part of your consciousness, your thoughts become your reality.

Affirmations Should be Fun

Affirmations should be fun, not a chore, not a must-do, or else list. None of that. If your affirmations don’t make you feel good, stop what you’re doing and start over with the right intention, as explained in this article.

Check your feelings and go to the source of those feelings. If you’re feeling bad, it’s because you’re dwelling in a state of resistance, the unwanted. But the moment you allow yourself to feel what it feels to have your desire, then the feeling will become evidence.

If you affirm that you are or have your desire from a state of fear that tells you otherwise, then affirmations become a chore and even painful. Instead, calm down and plant your seed, slowly but surely, while you allow yourself to feel the feeling of being and having your desire. Then use your affirmations with a smile on your face. Affirm with detachment, knowing that your seed has to grow because it’s law.

When you approach affirmations in such a way, you’ll be surprised at how quickly and easily your affirmations will reflect in your physical world.

how-to-know-you-are-the-operant-power

I decided to write this article today, based on a client’s question. She wanted to know HOW to be fully conscious that she is the operant power. It is true that it’s one thing to understand this concept intellectually, but it’s another to actually KNOW from within that we are the operant power, that we are the ONE pulling the strings of our own life. So, if this is you, if you have an intellectual understanding that you are the operant power, but are not fully convinced of that deep down inside, this article is for you.

Use Your Past As Proof that You Are the Operant Power

Don’t just listen to it, but try it. You are the operant power; it doesn’t operate itself. – Neville Goddard

The first thing to understand is that there is no magic pill that we can swallow to aid your spiritual awakening. It’s a process. Most of us, not to say all of us, were born in an environment that taught us that we are limited and that we are a the mercy of life, the element, God’will, etc… so it’s no wonder that it’s not “natural” for us to know that we are controlling our life and everything in it. As a matter of fact, since we have created the assumption of the opposite, we are manifesting “proofs” that our assumption is correct. This is why it’s so difficult for many people, even in the manifesting community, to assume that they are the operant power and to see proof of that.

This said, however, there is a place you can go to and see that you have always manifested your life and the people in it, long before you became aware of conscious manifesting. And this place is your past.

For me, the biggest thing that convinced me that I am the operant power was going back into memory lane. When I learned that everyone was me pushed out, all I had to do is recall the kind of people that I had manifested my whole life, whether they were romantic patterns, friends, bosses, and more. Pretty much all of those people, throughout my whole life, and on two different continents, were pretty much the same.

So, as I analyzed my life, I didn’t need anyone to convince me that “I” was the common denominator for all the people’s versions I encountered. And furthermore, I knew that the version that I manifested of those people was NOT their only version, because I was aware of people who knew a different version of them. So, there had to be more than one version of a person. I, as the operant power of MY reality, manifested the “monster,” “the selfish,” “the abuser,” “the opportunist…” but I actually KNEW for a fact, that other people had manifested a totally different version of the same people.

So, as the operant power of my reality, I manifested those people in a negative version of theirs. However, since I was ignorant of the law of assumption, even though I knew that, it was not registering to my spiritual-asleep-self. It’s when I discovered Neville Goddard’s teaching that it became all so clear and evident to me. I couldn’t deny it. It was all there for me to see, even if it was in my 3D “past.”

The BEST and EASIEST way to understand that YOU ARE the Operant Power and use that power consciously is to do reverse engineering as I did. Go back to your past and analyze your patterns.

So now, one might ask the question, how did I manifest all those bad versions of people over a few decades on two different continents? With my thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and assumptions. I had come to believe that people were there to get me, that I was not lucky in love, that I was never the chosen one, that people always ended up taking advantage of me, abandoning me, and hurting me. All of that came from my thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and assumptions about myself and other people. And Thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and assumptions are related and entwined to one another.

So, how can you change your thoughts, beliefs, and assumption then? Because there lies the whole secret of changing your life.

Affirmations will Anchor Your New Beliefs

I did it, I am doing it, and I will continue to do it until that which I have done is perfectly externalized within my world. – Neville Goddard

As adults, we are literally made up of memories that are not even ours. Between the age of 0 and 7 years old, when our subconscious mind was really the dominant or our two minds (conscious and subconscious) we were like sponges absorbing everything around us as true. As adults, we have beliefs that don’t serve us because they were put there by other people who were ignorant of spiritual law.  So, unless you change those limiting beliefs you are going to manifest according to such beliefs, pretty much on autopilot. That’s what you’ve been doing your whole life.

The best method that we have ever found to change the old programming that doesn’t serve us anymore is the use of specific affirmations. This is the best and quickest way to reprogram YEARS of subconscious beliefs that have been manifesting on autopilot for you. When you become a conscious manifestor, you can reprogram your subconscious mind by reshaping your thinking patterns by telling yourself a new story and drop the old.

For most people, visualization and SATS alone are not enough to create that change, because there is plenty of time in between where the mind will wander and get back to what it’s used to. As a matter of fact, I have recently realized that people who simply keep readjusting their thoughts when they become aware of negative ones, instead of affirming consciously and actively, are making much slower progress if any in some cases.

That’s why you need to affirm and reaffirm what you want to be and have. As you do, you will have images starting to take shape in your minds (even if you don’t realize it). And little by little, with persistence, you will end up convincing your subconscious mind of your new story. You will even start to create new memories for yourself that will playback instead of the old ones.

That’s why affirmations not only work, but they are necessary to reprogram OUR-SELF-CONCEPT. Even people who deny that they have ever used affirmations to transform their self-concept, simply don’t realize that they have done it without being aware of doing it. And the reason why I know this, it’s that we constantly speak to ourselves. So, even if you didn’t do it consciously and out loud as an exercise to change your concept of self, you’ve done it regardless.

You rise to a higher level of consciousness by taking your attention away from your present limitations and placing it upon that which you desire to be. – Neville Goddard

Affirmations will help you to bring awareness to a new story, and the repetition of that new story, over time, will harden into fact. The subconscious mind is always eager to give us proof of our beliefs (good, bad, or indifferent). For example, when it comes to a specific person if you believe that they have free will and that they are using that free will to run away from you…, if you believe that they are this or that…, if you believe that they are above you, somehow (on a pedestal), etc… Your subconscious mind has no choice but to show you that this is true. It has no choice because that’s what the subconscious mind DOES. What is true to you MUST be true.

So, be sure that you fill your subconscious mind with well-chosen and specific affirmations in order to create your new story. Then, your subconscious mind will be eager to show how true this is. This is what being the operant power is all about.

become a master manifestor

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. – James 1:22

Over the last few months, I have noticed a pattern, and I have gotten enough feedback from clients as well to see that some people are stuck in the hearing of the word part, while never really moving into the doing part. But in order to become a master manifestor, you need to practice both. First, you need to have a good understanding of the law of assumption (spiritual law), and second, you need to practice it. It is those who practice a good combination of both that are the most successful. So, in this article, I am going to discuss what it means to be a hearer of the law of assumption and how to become a doer as well, so you can manifest your desires and become a master manifestor.

If you are familiar with Neville Goddard’s lectures, I am sure that you’ve heard him quote the Bible verse mentioned above, and if you’re not familiar with Neville Goddard’s lectures, why aren’t you? This is probably one of the FIRST things you should be doing if you landed in the Neville Goddard/manifesting community. Reading and listening to Neville is the first step you need to take to go from an eternal student of manifesting to a master manifestor. In the process, you will also be able to differentiate hearsay about Neville Goddard’s teaching and the truth about it. Because it’s always best to find out from the source, isn’t it?

So, in the article, I wanted to discuss what it takes to become a master manifestor, and by the same token, tear down some untruths about Neville Goddard’s teaching. Because if you’ve got stuck into believing some of those, and some people have personally told me that they have, this could be the reason why you’re stuck in your manifesting process.

So, let’s go back to the drawing board, and learn how you can become a master manifestor.

How Do We Manifest?

First I have an objective… I catch the mood, the feeling that will be mine if… You always go to the end, and the end is where you start. – Neville Goddard

Probably the most asked questions that I see in my FB group is the question that starts with “how do I manifest…?”

To manifest a desire, you need to first have an objective, as Neville said. You need to know what you want. If you’re not sure of what you want, you need to figure it out, or come back next time, as Neville humorously said. Once you have figured out what you want, you imagine that you have and/or be what you want to have and/or be. “I catch the mood, the feeling that will be mine if I were what I want to be…. I am thinking of what would the feeling be like if… You always go to the end, and the end is where you begin. Even though reason denies it, you turn your back on the doubters.” Neville Goddard.

The way you manifest one thing is how you manifest everything, as I explained in my last video. Whether you want to manifest a new career, your specific person, more money, a vacation, or healing from a disease, etc. this is how you manifest. You feel FROM your wish fulfilled. How would it feel? How would I feel if I was now…? How would I feel if I had now…? And that’s where you start. The end is where you start. And even though your senses may deny it, you need to turn your back on that as Neville said, because he explained that doubt is what is referred to as the Devil in the Bible, while having a desire and knowing that it’s done is what is referred to as Prayer in the Bible. Remember this when you are manifesting a desire. Desiring something, and knowing that it’s yours, it’s your prayer; falling in the trap of doubt is succumbing to the devil.

This said, did Neville ever say that you could not use helpers to get to that state of the wish fulfilled? No, he didn’t. In fact, through his career, he gave plenty of tools (not just visualization) that we can use to help us imagine, feel, and believe that our desire is ours.

Recently I have gotten feedback from clients telling me that while some coaches and teachers teach that all you have to do is believe and it is done, this is not really helpful to them. And I completely get that, because depending on where you’re coming from when you discover this teaching you might or might not be able to just believe on the spot. I have been there, so I get that. Doing nothing and just believing is great, but does that work for everyone? Most likely, no, it’s not going to work for everyone. Let’s be honest. Some people need helpers and tools that they could use to go from where they are now to where they want to be.

One such great tool is affirmations. But, yet again, you have those Neville Goddard method’s teachers saying that Neville Goddard didn’t teach affirmations, or that you don’t need affirmations to manifest. But, frankly speaking, is this helpful to the newbie? From my own experience and the feedback that I’m getting, the answer is no.

Is it True that Neville Never Taught Affirmations?

I did it, I’m doing it, and I will continue to do it until that which I have done is perfectly externalized within my world. – Neville Goddard

Sadly to say, there are some well-knows Neville Goddard teachers, some of which are using the name Neville attached to their name, who are teaching that affirmations don’t work, that affirmations don’t help you manifest, and that Neville never taught affirmations. This is why you need to know Neville’s teaching for yourself. Because if you do, you’ll be able to separate the truth and the lie about his teaching. However, if you don’t you may be robbing yourself from one of the most powerful manifesting tools, just because you were led to believe that Neville Goddard never told people to use affirmations to manifest their desire. Plus Neville Goddard always encouraged people to try things for themselves.

The truth is that, YES, Neville Goddard, not only taught that affirmations could help people to manifest their desire, but he taught his audience some specif affirmations to repeated over and over such as, ” I AM,” “isn’t it wonderful…,” or “I remember when…,” If those are not affirmations, then please, tell me how you call them?

In one of his lectures, Neville talked about a then known man who had received the Nobel prize. This is what Neville said about this man’s story; ” He was a poor man, but he grew tired of poverty… and he said to his interviewer… I locked myself in a room one day. I did not have a glass of water for 16 hours. And in that interval, I repeat it over and over to myself this thought that I wrote out. I have it in the present tense; ‘I have a lavish, steady, dependable income, consistent with integrity and mutual benefit.’ Well, he certainly earned it. He had all those things when he died.” If Neville Goddard didn’t believe in the power of affirmations, do you think that he would have told this story in his lectures? Not only he did believe in the power of affirmations, but in this particular lecture, he was encouraging his audience to do the same as this man did.

So, don’t be fooled by those Neville Goddard teachers who are telling you that affirmations don’t work, or that you don’t need affirmations to manifest your desires. If you don’t need affirmations, and you can get your desire just like that, then, by all means, do that. However, my hands-on experience with seeing how many people reach out to me after being on the manifesting treadmill for weeks and months without any results, I can tell you that affirmations are the best thing that they’ve ever experienced so far, in the manifesting journey. As a matter of fact, some individuals who couldn’t progress before, are now successful because they’ve been using affirmations.

Why are Affirmations Powerful?

Affirmations are that powerful, and yes, they do work. Don’t let anyone telling you otherwise. Most of my client success stories are the result of controlling their mental diet through the use of specifically chosen affirmations. Thoughts are nothing less than affirmations. And if you asked any manifesting coach who prescribes affirmations they would tell you the same thing. I have had clients who told me that if they had started affirmations before, instead of listening to some contrary advice or lack thereof, they would have been way more advanced today in their manifesting journey.

If for some reason, getting into the state of your wish fulfilled is not something that you can just will and do easily, affirmations will be the BEST tool that will get you there.

I think that it’s about time that manifesting coaches understand that being in the state of the wish fulfilled is one thing, but getting there is another. I’ve had people telling me that they understand the concept, but they don’t know how to get there. This is the missing link in the teaching of some manifesting coaches. And, no, I’m not saying that there are bad coaches, but they need to help people to get there. What they’re teaching sounds great and all, but then why is it that people who have been following and listening to them come to me or other coaches that actually explain to them how to get there? I have to admit that even I didn’t realize that until clients told me what they really needed.

So, yes, affirmations are powerful, and from my experience, this is THE tool that is going to help you get your desires because it’s going to be the medium that you are going to use to make you believe what you can’t seem to believe right now. Nothing will help you better, than affirming it with strong words that are bound to change the way you think.

Many people in the manifesting community are becoming master manifestors because they’ve understood that there was a missing link between where they were and where they wanted to be. Knowing that they had to be in the state just wasn’t enough. That missing link has been practicing affirmations.
