Feeling it Real – What Does it Mean?

Feeling it real what does it mean

The time it takes your assumption to become fact, your desire to be fulfilled, is directly proportionate to the NATURALNESS of your feeling of already being what you want to be… of already having what you desire. – Neville Goddard

I think that one of the most common misunderstandings about “feeling it real” it’s that people think that it means to be emotional. But this is definitely not the case. Feeling it real is NOT feeling emotional about your desire. When Neville Goddard was telling people to feel it real, to feel the reality of having their desire, he didn’t mean to be emotional about it, he meant to feel natural about it. When it feels natural, it feels real.

So, if you are still confused about the difference between feeling it real and feeling emotional about your desire, this article is for you.

Feeling it Real vs Having Emotions

The subconscious is the womb of creation. It receives the idea unto itself through the feelings of man. It never changes the idea received, but always gives it form. Hence the subconscious out pictures the idea in the image and likeness of the feeling received. – Neville Goddard – Feeling is the Secret

Let’s say you want to manifest a romantic partner, and when you think of them you become emotional, maybe it makes you cry. You’re feeling this way because you actually have a hunger for your sp. You love them and you want them, but right now they are not with you, so you miss them. It’s obvious that regardless of all those emotions, you do not feel that you are in a relationship with them. You actually have a longing for them and that’s where your emotions are coming from. One thing that you do not feel, however, it’s that you are in a relationship with them. At that stage, you do not feel the reality of being with them, because if you did, those emotions would actually subside.

Now, let’s say that you want to create a live in the end scene with your sp, but you create an emotional scene where you are too excited and too involved. When you’re done with your visualization it’s going to be hard to sustain such a scene. If your scene is too emotional it can actually create a need, a longing, a lack feeling for your sp, and thus, it’s not going to help you to live in the end of your wish fulfilled. Feeling emotional about something or someone is NOT feeling it real, but more like feeling it NEW, or worse even, feeling wanting.

Indeed, if you try to manifest something by feeling emotional about it, you actually create more hunger for it. The problem is that as long as your desire is not in your 3D yet, that hunger is going to make you REACT to the 3D in a negative way. On the other hand, if you have a very simple, non-emotional scene in your mind that implies that your desire has been yours for a while, that type of feeling is much easier to sustain since it feels so normal to you. That’s what it means to feel it real. Create a short scene, devoid of any strong emotion, that implies that your desire is a common occurrence in your life. Once you feel it real, it’s your subconscious mind’s job to recreate that feeling in your 3D. What you assume to be true in your mind, will be materialized by your subconscious mind in your 3D reality.

Feeling it Real is Not Pretending

The actor cannot pretend. He must enter and become the part he has agreed to play. He cannot step upon the stage knowing he is a great actor who everyone recognizes. He must lose himself in the character by leaving his personality in the dressing room and entering the stage as the character he is to portray. – Neville Goddard

So, now that we know that feeling it real is not feeling emotional, it’s important to know that it’s not pretending either. Interestingly, in the old days, I used to be in acting, so I completely understand what Neville is saying in the quote above. As an actor, when you play a part you have to forget about who you are as a person, and even who you are as an actor because you have to BECOME the character that you are interpreting.

This is why it is very common to see very shy actors not being shy at all as soon as they are on a stage or in front of a camera. Not only I have seen that many times, but I was one of such actors. True, I am not longer shy now, but back then I was tremendously shy, but my state of being shy dropped instantly as soon as I had to become someone else. Once I was on that stage I could be and do things that I couldn’t dream of doing as ME. This happened because I stepped into the state of my character, I was no longer my-self, I was that character. When you feel it real to have or be your desire, you need to step into the state of the person who has their desire. Your ‘old man’ has to die to give life to the new one. This is no pretending, it’s a true feeling.

Being in the State is Feeling it Real

So when God stepped upon the stage wearing this (body), he is Neville, one hundred percent. He had to completely forget that he was God, yet knowing that he brought with him a pattern which would erupt and his memory would return. I agreed to play the part as Neville. He and I are one. – Neville Goddard

When we were born, at the source we were God. That’s why we say that we are God. We are God wearing our body, and for us to live as humans and discover who we truly are, we had to totally forget who we are at the source. God is wearing Neville, God is wearing Sylviane, God is wearing YOU. That’s why we say that we are ALL ONE. The same God, the same source, is in each body that is walking on the earth. And not only human bodies, by the way. All bodies. All living things. The whole universe.

But as a person, as us, as you, you feel it so real that you’re forgetting that you are God. That’s what feeling it real means. You don’t feel emotions about being you, do you? No, you simply ARE you, It feels real to be you, to be your body, to by your personality. Yet, it’s just a state. You are in the state of being you. It feels real, it feels natural, and it’s not emotional. You do not wake up in the morning thinking, oh my God, I am ME! I can’t believe it, it’s amazing! Most of us don’t that, do we? We don’t do that because we feel it real to be us, it’s normal, it’s natural. We have embodied the state of being us. You have embodied the state of being YOU.

Maybe you are a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a doctor, a cook, an artist, etc… do you feel emotional about any of those states? No, you simply feel it real. The next time you’re wondering about what it means to feel it real, think about that and you will get it. That’s how it feels.
